I'm sure there were ancient aliens. I'm equally sure none of them ever came to Earth.

We all know what happens when an advanced civilisation enounters a more primitive one. Exploitation, colonisation, rebellion, liberation, chaos, stabilisation, advancement, imperialism, decadence, disintegration.

If Earth had been colonised by advanbced aliens, we'd be starting to lose our own Galactic Empire about now.
