I'm a little more Draconian than you. Nobody needs a foreign holiday, for one thing, and it's log past tiem we restricted self-indulgences of that kind for the sake of the planet. For another, internet communications have reached a level where business and even diplomatic meetings can take place remotely. So, by and large, air travel is unnecessary. And while the aircraft themselves are not vast polluters, all the gubbins that surrounds air travel does push the numbers up (the number of infernal combustion vehicles around even a small airport is huge).
