If one takes the whole Arrow of Time, progress as decrease in disorder and increase in entropy, then intelligence has a place in this. Intelligent beings, due to their creation of artificial constructs, both social and physical, will measurably increase entropy. The apparent alienation from Nature, it seems, does not prevent, but actually facilitates, the Universes' drive toward complete entropy.

The argument then becomes about intentionality - doea thec Universe seek entropy by intention, or simply by its' nature?
