I'd like to say things woiuld be different over here, but I'm not so sure. Yes, our net has smaller holes, but people still fall through. Yes, any medical treatment would be free, but care of any kind often isn't. And she's an adult, with all the legal rights that implies. So unless she were to be 'sectioned' (unlikely), there's little anyone can do without her consent.

At least you were strong enough to set rules. At least she knows that she can come back to you as and when she's prepared to live with those rules. Beyond that, you can, and should, only help in emergencies.

That sounds hard, but you have yourself, and other folk who need you, to consider, right?
