I write fanfiction in Third Person, with multiple POVs because there is quite generally a lot going on in my stories that the reader needs to know about, and I can't be bothered to have various characters take up pages in explaining things when I can just write them as they happened.
I find First Person to be quite restrictiive in terms of what your POV character can actually see and know, it makes me impatient.
Funnily enough, I have the same notions when it comes to games. I get annoyed at First Peron games because I can't see enough of what's going on. The wider perspective of Third Person, or the 'Gods' Eye' view of RTS makes the experience more enjoyable for me.
I think it's a mindset issue.
