I was talking about boys and men, NOT non-binary people, any more than I was talking about girls and women. A biological male who identifies as female should be acknowledged and treated as female and thus does not fall within the field I was speaking of.

In regard to non-binary people, there is still much to learn about a group which has only recently emerged into the general awareness, and I make no claim to be talking about them, either.

The views I express are based upon my experience of dealing, in an educational context, with young people of both sexes. I accepted at the time that they were all of the gender they presented as, and treated them accordingly. If any of them misrepresented themselves to me, and suffered as a result, the responsibility lies with them.
