I really wouldn't care who could see where I've been - I'm not doing anything I'm ashamed of! From the other side, it would be nice to be able to check to see if one's friends, or people whose opinion one values, had in fact read any given piece. There are people whose work I always read, but do not always clap or comment on. Not because I disagree with or dislike the work, but because the particular piece concerns a topic or area in which I lack expertise, experience or opinions! There are things on which I do not have opinions, odd as that may seem.

Also, to be entirely honest, if someone who follows my work regularly suddenly isn't, I'd like to be aware of it so I can check if they're OK. People aren't always well, after all!
