I rarely watch comedy and comedians these days - most of it is either too woke or too silly. About the only thing with comedians on I watch is QI. People call me a snob for that, but at least they have good guests. Regular appearances by clever performers such Bill Bailey, Phil Jupitus, Jo Brand, Sue Perkins, David Mitchell and Susan Calman, to name but a few, help a lot. These folk know how the game is played, and smooth the path for less frequent attendees like Gyles Brandreth and the irrepressible Brian Blessed, as well as non-comics such as Benjamin Zephaniah and Daniel Radcliffe.
It's about the only funny thing left on TV now that Les Dawson, Dave Allen, Bob Monkhouse and both the Ronnies are gone!
