I imagined the class-based thing to be a singularly British issue. Racism, sexism and homophobia all exist here, but patchily; class-based prejudice, however, remains embedded and systemic. If you wear the right clothes, live in the right area, went to the right school and speak with the right accent, then your colour, gender and orientation are secondary issues or even non-issues. The Black Old Etonian will always do better than the White grammar-school boy.

In the matter of bullying, after ten years as a Trade Union rep and Branch Chair, I've dealt with a lot of it. It's amazing how brazen a manager or team leader can be with it when they're sure the other team members won't speak up. It's also horrible to see what it can do to a person, it can break them.

Me, I preferred WFH in later years before I retired, because I suffer from depression and anxiety and can't be doing with being around a lot of people for very long. Also, I hate team working because I've always beleived that the functional IQ of any group equals the lowest individual IQ divided by the number in the group! I'm a terrible person :)
