I don’t get this, at all. The second person pronoun is gender neutral -’you’ (it should be ‘thee’ or ‘thou’, if addressing a specific individual, but never mind). When the person concerned is present, always refer to them by name, it is grossly impolite to do otherwise. When they are not present, don’t talk about them unless you have a valid reason to do so (gossip is not valid), and in those circumstances use the gender pronoun that matches how they present (if it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, it’s a bloody duck!). As to the self-styled non-binary folks -get real! You are XX or XY, whether you like it or not. I don’t care how androgynous you choose to appear, if you have an Adams’ apple, you’re going to be a ‘he’, and if you don’t, you’re ‘she’. ‘They’ is a plural, so unless you want me to refer to you as ‘it’, stop being precious about it!

Of course, the best answer would be to stop talking so perishing much. Who’s up for Spartan dialogue? Brief, witty and to the point? Not like me.
