Frys' point was that, in a world without God, bone cancer in children etc, while horrible in themselves, are simply random acts of Nature, without intention. Nobody set out to kill that child, they were just tragically unlucky.

Put an omnipotent, ominiscient and supposedly loving God into the equation, however, and everything changes. Now the illness, the suffering, the early death become something that could hve been prevented by a flick of Gods' will. But God does nothing, and the child dies. There is no theological sophistry that can justify this behaviour from a supposedly loving and merciful God. If a human being with the power to save a child simply did nothing but watch that child die in pain, you would rightly call them a monster. But this is what God does, thousands of times a day, all over the world.

"With great power comes great responsibility." It appears that God has less moral development than Spider-Man! At least Peter Parker uses his powers to help anyone he can! Meanwhile, millions suffer and die, but God does nothing!
