First encountered this tale in the sumptuous (for the time) BBC adaptation of the 1970s. They used the of Roman-style V instead of U in the titles, so that the show and character are now affectionately known in my family as 'Clavdivs'. At the time, I was already familiar with Graves' re-telling of the Greek myths, so was interested in seeing it. I read the books many years later and was, as always, fascinated to find all the smaller details and minor events that the adaptation was forced to exclude.
And people now think GoT was something special! Liva would have had the Lannisters for breakfast!
