Fine thoughts indeed. But they still remain wrapped in an obligation to spread Islam to everyone, don't they? Both Christianity and Islam share that obligation, and both can find justification in their theology for using violence to do so.
I've been an atheist most of my adult life, but it is not something I came to without study and thought. In the course of those studies I reached one conclusion (among many), which is that where you have a proselytising religion that refuses to acknowledge the validity of any other faith, or even sect of it's own faith, then this breeds intolerance, and intolerance breeds violence.
