Films based on books I can live with - there have been some brilliant ones. Films based on comics vary from the dreadful Green Hornet to the thoroughly-enjoyable Deadpool. Film based on games are quite generally of poor ro medium quality for a variety of reasons.

But films based on rides? Yes, I get Pirates of the Caribbean. There's a lot of pirate lore to play with, and pirate films, right back to Sinbad, have always had their devotees. But they should have left it at the one film. Rides have little or no plot, and a film needs one. A by-the-numbers template plot and a carelessly-written bullpen script, alongside oppressive corporate oversight, don't help, of course. But you're basically starting with nowt, so you can make nowt out of it!

What's next? "Hey, I saw this cool set of postage stamps yesterday! Maybe we can make a movie of them?"
