Consciousness moved matter? I didn't say Uri Geller built the wall! The wall will have been built by a brickie, using very material tools, his very material hands and hs non-material but still very real knowledge.
Our bodies are made of matter and manipulate other matter under direction from our minds. Thought and consciousness are not material. I've ever claimed them to be such. The likeliest possibility is that they are some sort of energy, but rather more subtle than most. Not measurable by our current methods.
The sentience or otherwise of the Universe is a dead-end question. Either it is insentient or its sentience is of a type and order radically different from ours and which we will likely never understand. It is therefore as irrelevant to us as we are to it.
If consciousness is to be understood, it will be explained by science. Possibly a new branch of science we've not developed yet. Equally, a field of study which is not yet accounted a science may well become one once the techniques to make it more rigorous and exact are developed.
Theistic explanations are invaraibly rooted in anthropocentrsim and egotism. They can be very pretty, but ultmately explain nothing. People have lived ethical and moral lives under all religions and none. The Kir'shara of Sarek or Necronomicon of Abdul Al-Hazred are as valid as any 'sacred' text and no more fictional.
