Conquest, colonisation, exploitation, enslavement, extermination, assimilation and isolation.

Human hisrory demonstrates that one, any or perhaps all of thse are the only possible outcomes when an advanced culture meets a less-advanced one.

The first six were employed with gusto when technologically advanced European cultures met up with other cultures from about the 16th Century to the mid-20th. The seventh is currently being employed by the Indian Government on the indigenous inhabitants of North Sentinel Island, who are in the habit of attacking and killing strangers who land there (in 2018 some young idiot was killed after he illegally landed there with the aim of converting them to Christianity). The island is surrounded by an exclusion zone patrolled by the Indian Navy. Given that the island has only a smal population (estimated at 400 in 2012) we can assume that these people will die off in a few decades.

Therefore, if the flying saucers are being piloted by non-terrestrials, and none of the first six has yet happened, we may well be being isolated until we either die out or advance to some level of equality.

If they come from here, they may well be time-travellers come to make sure their future civilisation will exist.
