Civil liberties and 'human rights' legislation is treating the symptom, not the cause. When people are well-fed, comfortable and secure, there is no need to persuade them to focus their fears and insecurities onto artificially demonised 'others'. Nothing is wrong, there's nothing to be afraid of, they've got better, more enjoyable, things to do.
Aspiration is another word for ambition. What most folk aspire to is a steady income, a decent home, good healthcare, a good standard of education for the kids, a holiday once a year and a blow-out at Christmas. For those who aspire to more, a decent liberal education should urge them to direct their ambition to the good of all.
