Carols For Today
Seasonal ditties brought up to date
In the bleak midwinter, people sit and frown.
Icy roads and pile-ups, power lines are down.
Snow has fallen overnight, just an inch or so.
So they closed the schools today, here we bloody go!
Good King Wenceslas looked out,
Through his doorbell viewer.
Fifty peasants stood about,
Place smelt like a sewer.
Wanting meat, demanding wine,
“Where’s me bloody firewood?”
Do a favour just one time,
They’re after you for good!
Noisy night, party night!
Music loud, neon bright!
Poor, exhausted family and child.
People next door going wild!
Sleep? You don’t have a prayer!
Until the coppers get there!
We three men of Parliament are.
Promises we scatter afar!
Stop immigration,
Bring down inflation,
Stop people driving cars!
