By 'the Narnia gang' I mean the ones who only like the series for its sledge-hammer Christian allegory. The ones who constantly promoted it as a way of getting 'the Christian message' to the children of tertiary-educated, agnostic, middle-class parents. They hate Tolkien because while there are deeply Christian themes in LOTR, they are just that, themes, not asociated with any particular Divine figure. They hate Harry Potter and His Dark Materrials for providing prents with an alternative to Narnia. The kind of people who regularly write to the BBC complaining that Sir David Attenborough neverr mentions God in his nature documantaries.
