Atheism, in my view, is not a lie because:

1. Any being claiming the title of God and requiring the submission and worship that status implies would be ipso facto unworthy of them.

2. Any being possessing the abilities and traits associated with God would ipso facto be uninterested in, and probably disgusted by, submission and worship.

Thus, any being claiming to be God cannot be God and the Unity, Single Source, First Cause or whatever one wishes to call it would not identify as God.

Ergo, there is no God, at least as the term is generally understood.

Whatever is out there is out there, and our relationship with it, in default of any substantive proof or evidence otherwise, remains an unknown. As individuals, we will find out in due course. As a species, who knows? In the interim, we are left with lifestyle choices, which we make as best we can, or which we allow our parents or communities to make for us.
