At the moment, they are experimenting, playing. Soon enouhg the Powers That Be will want something useable, marketable.

They'll do their research. They will discover that people don't want AI that writes poems or paints pictures. People will want AI that cleans the living room, does the laundry, gets the kids to school and back, cooks the dinner, stacks the warehouse shelves, flips the burgers, builds the cars, does the accounts, writes the reports, attends the meetings and so on while the people write poems and paint pictures!
