As an Englishman I am completely biased here, but you seem to have forgotten that the Scots and their fellow Celtic ‘hangers-on’ (the Welsh, Northern Irish, Manx and Cornish) have had their hands in the English tax-payers pocket almost as long as any Royal ever did, and far more deeply!
