And they are the problem!

If imagination began and ended with simple extrapolation from known data we'd have heavy stick+sharp stone = bigger prey = tribe eats better, done. Which would leave humans living as we were meant to live, in small, spatially-separated tribes of hunter-gatherers in the tropics and/or Equatorial Africa. A few million at most and an undamaged environment.

But extrapolating from incomplete data gives us the way to collect more data, as well as to make up fairy stories and present them as Gods' Law. We end up with militant Islam, nuclear bombs and accelerated global warming.

Over-developed.

As to evolution, if we suppose that mind is energy rather than matter, why should energy not evolve and change as matter does?
