An old friend of mine, who stood 6'4" was dragged of to a rioding stables by his girlfriend. He told me that the owner looked him up and down and remarked "I think I've got one you can sit on without your feet touching the ground" He told me he was fine riding -he just let the horse amble on as it saw fit, apparently - but nearly got a nosebleed from the height! Just to be clear, he was what we call 'a great long streak of yesterdays' dishwater' in Yorkshire, and weighed no more than I did (about 11 stone at the time). So I always thought height more of an issue than weight.

Of course, as an Old Man With a Beard, I now know better than to sit on a horse!
