Ah, the joys of 'revisionist' history! This was bound to happen, of course!

Churchill, the epitome for the British bulldog, the man who got us through the war, ie eventually revealed as the man who sent men to die at Gallipoli, as the man who allowed Coventry and other cities to be carpet-bombed rather than reveal that the Enigma codes had been broken. He hd also been the man who unleashed mounted police on the Jarrow Marchers - half-starved men who had walked the legnth of the country to appeal for nothing except the right to work. A hard-right demagogue and avid 51st-Stater. who dragged Britain into a war that was none of our concern in service to his own agenda. A ruthless imperialist.

Other wartime Allied leaders have had their once-spotless reputations re-balanced in view of newly-found or rediscovered evidence.

It was inevitable, therefore, that some people were going to try to rehabilitate Hitler. Unfortuately for them, there is no evidence to do so. Accounts of his personal life do nothng but shed light on his mental instability, monstrous ego and narcissism. Some might point to his reconstruction of the German economy after the Weimar disaster, while forgetting that there were other forces acting at the time that made it possible. Also forgetting that the main driver of economic improvement was preparation for intended war. Like a certain Republican Presidentialcandidate, the man had no redeeming features.
