Absolutely inconceivable! There could be no such role for a British ceremonial President. The nature and structure of our system requires that the Head of State express no opinions and have no voice. No one who wishes to be a voice for anything would consider the role. The King himself has already as much as admitted that he can no longer speak on the causes that, until a few days ago, were so close to his heart. His actions since his accession have made it clear that he expects William and Katherine to pick up where he has now to leave off. They will now be the ones talking about environmental and social issues, while the King quietly reforms the monarchy into something which, if it will not turn a profit, will at least cost the taxpayer less.

Oh, and yes, everyone is pretty much a scoundrel, a scammer, a schliemiel, any two or all three! Like Diogenes, I walk the daylight streets with my lamp lit, and never find what I'm looking for!
